Do you want to cancel your account with Brinks Home Security? Perhaps your Brinks home security system has not lived up to your expectations. Maybe the Brinks customer service team has disappointed you.
Whatever the reason, you have the right to cancel your Brinks home security account under the terms of the cancellation policy in the initial contract you signed when creating the account.
However, you may be curious about how you can cancel your Brinks Home Security account. This article will provide an overview of the steps necessary for canceling your service.
Overview of the Brinks Home Security Cancellation Policy

The cancellation policy in your Brinks home security service contract allows you to cancel your account whenever you want. However, you will be charged for the remainder of your contract term unless you have a month-by-month subscription with no long-term obligations.
If you have entered into a long-term contract, such as a 12-month or 36-month term contract, you will receive a 30-day trial period upon signing the contract. That means you can cancel your account within the first 30 days without any penalties or cancellation fees. After the 30-day trial period ends, you must pay 100% of the remainder of your contract if you decide to cancel.
For instance, let’s say you have had your Brinks home security service for 12 months, and now you want to cancel with 24 months left on your contract. Once you contact Brinks and request to cancel your account, they will charge you for the remainder of those 24 months upon the cancellation of the account. The estimated cancellation fee, in this case, would be $960.00, which is the total estimated payment amount for the remaining 24 months you want to cancel.
Steps for Canceling Your Brinks Home Security Account
Are you ready to submit your account cancellation request to Brinks Home Security? Here are the steps below:
1. The first step is to call the Brinks customer service at 1-800-447-9239.
2. The customer service agent will ask you for your Brinks account number, full name, phone number, and mailing address. Make sure this information matches the information on your Brinks account.
3. The customer service agent will explain the cancellation policy in detail and answer any questions you may have, such as the amount of the cancellation fees. At this point, if you still want to cancel, the agent will go ahead and send you a “DocuSign” cancellation form via email.
Steps to Complete DocuSign Cancellation Form

1. Look for the DocuSign email in your inbox. It should arrive within one business day, although most people get it within minutes of contacting customer service. If you don’t see it in your inbox, check your spam folder for the sender [email protected].
2. The email will contain a link entitled “Review Document.” Click that link to come to the DocuSign page. The form will show you the amount you owe on your final bill and other terms relating to the contract. It will then ask you to put your digital “e-signature” to the document to verify that you agree to the cancellation.
3. Check the box to agree to use electronic signatures for the cancellation. Once you finish your review, click “Sign,” “Adopt and Sign,” and then “Finish” in that order.
4. The document has been signed! You can expect the official cancellation confirmation form to arrive in your inbox within one business day. Your Brinks account will be officially canceled within 30 days of receiving the cancellation confirmation email.
5. Look out for the final bill in a separate Brinks email. You will be expected to pay that bill as part of the cancellation policy terms.
Please Note: You will have seven days to sign the DocuSign form after you receive it digitally. If you do not sign the form after a week, the DocuSign page will no longer be active. At that point, you must call Brinks again to request another DocuSign cancellation form to sign.

My experience with Brinks has been stressful. Brinks changes the monthly payment and contract end date unilaterally. If I sign a contract, I expect the terms to remain the same or a bilateral agreement of changes. Over the course of 6 years, the monthly payment changed numerous times without a bilateral consent. When I upgrade, equipment I have consented to changes bilateral agreement. When I call to ask for my contract end date, it was moving target depending on who you spoke with. Lastly, when I requested to cancel, I am given an address to send the final payment to that doesn’t exist according to USPS: Dept. CH 14321, Palatine, Il 60055-4321. According to USPS, there is no street number or P.O. Box to send it to. This is unethical business practices.
I Have had Brinks system for 20 days and found it is not for me. I started calling the sales person the vey next day. someone is always home and have to open my doors several times a day and have to unarm system. I’ve called to cancel and they say I have to pay $4,000 in order to cancel. To begin with sales person told me they were with my internet provider and and that if I included this system I would be saving me around $50 a month. I have tried calling them several times and the calls were never returned. I went in to my internet providers office and they had no information about the contract. So to begin with I was misinformed, therefore I don’t believe I owe Brinks any cancelation fee. Please recommend options
